Flight description

On this route you will experience all the diversity of the Bavarian foothills of the Alps. The state capital of Munich, countless beautiful lakes, spectacular mountain peaks in the Alps and Neuschwanstein Castle will make time fly by in your window seat, but the memories will stay with you forever.

From our ALPEN AIR terminal in Augsburg, the flight takes us via Dachau to Munich, the Bavarian capital. We fly at slow speed over the Allianz Arena of FC Bayern Munich, which is a particularly impressive sight from the air, and hover at an altitude of about 600 meters over the English Garden, the Frauenkirche, Marienplatz and Theresienwiese (during the Oktoberfest/Beer festival it is not allowed to fly over the festival/Theresienwiese). We enjoy the view of Nymphenburg Castle, the futuristic BMW World, the architecturally unique Olympic Stadium and the 291-meter high Olympic Tower.

Along the Würmtal we fly on to Lake Starnberg and hope to discover the Alps in the background on this early part of the trip if the visibility is good!

We then fly over the picturesque Bavarian foothills of the Alps with its crystal-clear lakes. First we admire the Easter lakes, which often shine in magnificent colors, shortly afterwards we catch sight of the Riegsee and the Staffelsee, before we reach the northern edge of the Alps. From now on, highlights await us at every turn. Kochelsee is followed by the emerald green Walchensee with the Herzogsstand on one side and the rugged Benediktenwand on the other. We pass Mittenwald with an impressive view of the massive Karwendel mountains and head towards Elmau Castle. Next we reach Garmisch-Partenkirchen and even from the air you can clearly see the ski jumps. At the same time, the imposing Zugspitze – Germany’s highest mountain at 2,962 meters – towers majestically before us. At the same time, the imposing Zugspitze – Germany’s highest mountain at 2,962 meters – towers majestically before us. The summit is within reach as we fly past, and you can almost wave to the visitors at the top station, while the deep blue Eibsee lake flashes out at us at the foot of the Zugspitze.

Taking a northwesterly course, the Ammergau Alps pass by below us and in the midst of the mountains we pass the idyllically situated Plansee. While we are still captivated by the breathtaking view of the Alps, the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle lies at our feet, enthroned impressively against the mountain backdrop and above the Forggensee. Enjoy this breathtaking view of the world-famous fairytale castle with its unique location from your personal window seat.

Then we follow the River Lech for a short distance and pass the Hohenpeißenberg. Having seen Lake Starnberg from the air earlier, we then offer you the most beautiful views of the rest of the Fünfseenland as a worthy finale. We will show you the monastery of Andechs, which lies sublimely on the “Holy Mountain”, the mighty Ammersee, the dreamy Pilsensee and the Caribbean-turquoise Wörthsee from their best sides. By the time we land safely in Augsburg, time will have flown by. With unforgettable pictures in your luggage, you will reluctantly step out of our comfortable plane full of emotion.
