Flight description
More is not possible! On this route, we simply show you everything in all its abundance and diversity: the state capital Munich, the Bavarian Alpine foothills with all its beautiful lakes, the Alps from Chiemgau to Allgäu, the Zugspitze and, of course, Neuschwanstein Castle. This flight is our absolute highlight that you will dream about for a long time to come.
This unforgettable flight over Alps starts from our ALPEN AIR terminal in Augsburg. We fly via Dachau to the state capital Munich with the architecturally brilliant Allianz Arena of FC Bayern Munich. We let ourselves be enchanted by the beauty of Munich from a height of only 600 meters, flying low to discover the English Garden and the German Museum. Hovering over the Marienplatz and the Frauenkirche, as well as the Nymphenburg Palace. At a slow speed we circle the futuristic BMW World and of course the Olympic Park with its 291 meter high Olympic Tower.
From here we will take you past Lake Simssee to the Bavarian sea, Lake Chiemsee. In the middle of Bavaria’s largest lake and against the impressive backdrop of the Alps, Herrenchiemsee Castle and Fraueninsel Island await you. We set course towards the mountains and only a few minutes later we cast our gaze through the large windows onto the Kampenwand and the Wilder Kaiser. Over the half hour that follows, we simply take in the grace of the mountains as we fly almost 150 kilometers along the northern Alps. This unforgettable section of the Grand scenic flight reveals the full majesty of the Bavarian landscape from above.
En route, we pass the Wendelstein after the Inn Valley and discover one idyllic lake after another in the midst of the impressive mountain world. First we pass the circular Thiersee, then the picturesque Schliersee, the small Spitzingsee and the famous Tegernsee. We cross the Isar and see the Sylvensteinsee, while the Brauneck and the Benediktenwand guide us to the Kochelsee and the green-turquoise Walchensee. In the distance, the rugged Karwendel mountain range impresses us, and behind it Garmisch, Germany’s highest mountain rises majestically before us. The 2,962-meter peak of the Zugspitze feels like it is within reach as we fly past, while the deep blue Eibsee lake beams at us from the valley.
We conclude our Grand scenic flight with the beauty of the Ammergau Alpine landscape and the Plansee lake surrounded by mountains. Before the next highlight comes into view – the imposing fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein Castle at the foot of the mountains overlooking Lake Forggensee. The Bavarian king would certainly have liked to see it from our plane back then!
