Sustainability
With ALPEN AIR you experience sustainable flight at its best.
Fly CO2-neutral over Bavaria’s alpine panoramas and enjoy breathtaking views in an eco-friendly way.
At our company, it is important to us…
… that we make our contribution to preserving the spectacular natural world which enjoy so much. That’s why we want to fly as resource-conserving as possible.
We make every effort to ensure that our flight operations are part of truly sustainable flight, both on a small and large scale.
Our focus is always on offering passengers an unforgettable experience while keeping eco-friendly flying at the core of our values. At ALPEN AIR it is important to us that we make our contribution to preserving the spectacular natural world which enjoy so much. That’s why we fly as resource-conserving as possible. Our average fuel consumption per passenger is around 6 litres per 100 kilometres (40 miles per gallon). Compensation for our CO2 emissions through our partner First Climate is included in the ticket price
So, in order to achieve truly sustainable flight, we make sure that all unavoidable emissions are carefully calculated on a regular basis. This allows us to take full responsibility for the environmental impact of our flying activities.
We then offset our calculated climate footprint every year by supporting carefully selected eco-projects through our trusted partner, First Climate. This cooperation ensures that our commitment to eco-friendly flying directly contributes to measurable climate protection.
First Climate has been working with airlines worldwide for more than a decade, helping them reduce emissions and improve their approach to sustainable flight. They also assist the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in developing the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA).
At ALPEN AIR, we are proud to hold an official certificate for CO2-neutral flight operations. It reflects our mission to make eco-friendly flying and sustainable flight a real and lasting standard for the future of aviation.
ALPEN AIR supports the following projects with corresponding United Nations Sustainability Goals to offset unavoidable emissions:
In addition to maximum efficiency and CO2 compensation, we have set ourselves much more ambitious goals.
At ALPEN AIR, sustainable flight is an important part of our long-term vision for cleaner aviation. We will actively participate in testing fully synthetic fuels as soon as they are approved for our aircraft type. Since we require only a small amount of fuel compared to international airlines, we can supply ourselves exclusively with the quantities needed. We are also closely monitoring the approval of the Continental CD-300 engine for the Cessna T206H. This innovative engine offers around 35% lower fuel consumption, and our goal is to be among the first operators to integrate this more efficient model into our fleet. Electric aviation is another area we are preparing for. Sightseeing flights are one of the first realistic applications, as only a single airport needs the initial infrastructure. We are already in contact with manufacturers and share our operational experience so that sustainable flight technologies can advance more quickly.
